Casal Velino is situated in the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano  in a quite central position, the ideal location to reach the most interesting destinations in Cilento and Campania, in general. The chief town of the city, where the "Locanda Le Tre Sorelle" is located, is characterized by the old village with typical houses surrounding the white and high Annunziata church bell tower. For the lovers of nature and horse rides it is possible to book hiking tours and horse-riding classes in a specialized center close to the village.

The beaches and the sea in Casal Velino Marina are among the most clean and crystalline waters of Italy. In fact since 2009 Casal Velino has been appointed "Bandiera Blu", which recognize to the site high standards of sustainable land management. During summer time there also is the Metrò del Mare, an hydrofoils connection service allows to reach in about one hour Capri, Amalfi and Sorrento. Moreover, you can find private companies that organize boat tours to Palinuro and Baia di Punta Infreschi ( The 2014 most beautiful beach of Italy according to Legambiente). Very close to Casal Velino, going to south, you can find Velia archaelogical ruins, land of Parmenides and Zeno and the Eleatics philosophical school. Going to North of Casal Velino Marina, instead, it's possible to visit Vinciprova Palace in Pioppi which hosts the Vivo del Mare Museum, on the ground floor, and the  Mediterranean Ancel Keys Diet Museum, on the upper floor. Only 20 minutes far from Casal Velino, it is possible to visit Paestum archaeological ruins.
